Our view of the service

Date of Assessment: 1 April to 3 April 2025. Lingfield Surgery is a GP practice and delivers services to 11,300 patients under a contract held with NHS England.

We conducted this inspection to follow up on concerns identified at our previous inspection where we rated the Safe key question as requires improvement. Since the last inspection, the practice had made improvements and is no longer in breach of Regulation 12 Safe Care and Treatment.

The National General Practice Profiles states that the ethnic make-up of the practice area is 94% White and 6% Asian, Black, or originating from mixed or other ethnic groups. Information published by Office for Health Improvement and Disparities shows that deprivation within the practice population group is in the 8 decile (8 of 10). The lower the decile, the more deprived the practice population is relative to others. This assessment considered the demographics of the people using the service, the context the service was working within and how this impacted service delivery. Where relevant, further commentary is provided in the quality statements section of this report.

People's experience of this service

People were positive about the quality of their care and treatment. Recent survey results, including from the National GP Patient Survey and the NHS Friends and Family Test, showed people were satisfied with services. There was an active patient participation group (PPG) who was independent from the practice and represented the views of people using the service. Feedback from the PPG highlighted they were listened to, valued, and had seen positive changes to improve patient experiences. For example, there had been a number of complaints regarding the seating in the waiting area. The PPG were involved in helping with the selection of new chairs purchased.
