We looked for evidence the service involved people and treated them with compassion, kindness, dignity and respect. At our last assessment, we rated this key question as good. At this assessment, the rating remains the same.

This service scored 70 (out of 100) for this area. Find out what we look at when we assess this area and How we calculate these scores.

Kindness, compassion and dignity

Score: 2

The service treated people with kindness, empathy and compassion and respected their privacy and dignity. Staff treated colleagues from other organisations with kindness and respect.

The service had arrangements to promote people’s privacy. The service performed better than the national average in the results of the 2026 National GP Patient Survey. This showed people felt listened to and felt they were treated with kindness. For example, 87% of respondents to the survey felt the healthcare professional at their last appointment was good at treating them with care and concern, compared to a national average of 86%. Similarly, 95% of respondents felt that during their last appointment, the healthcare professional was very good or fairly good at listening to them compared with the national average of 87%.

We did not receive any responses to our Give Feedback on Care system during the period of assessment. We requested Friends and Family Test data from the provider, but this was not provided.

Feedback from the patient participation group described staff as pleasant, helpful and welcoming.

We were not able to review the practice complaints policy as this was not retrievable or available on the day of our visit. There was some information on the practice website regarding complaints, but it did not set out timescales regarding how quickly the practice should respond to the complainant. The document itself contained no issue or review date to indicate whether it required an update review.
