The provider submitted a comprehensive document pack for our review, prior to the follow-up off-site inspection. The evidence reviewed and discussed during the inspection demonstrated that the areas of concern identified at the previous inspection had been appropriately addressed. The information provided confirmed that improvements had been implemented and embedded within practice systems and processes to support ongoing compliance.
At the follow-up off-site inspection on 14 July 2026 we found the practice had made the following improvements to comply with the regulation:
Effective systems were in place to ensure dental care records were consistently completed in line with current guidance. This included appropriate justification for, and reporting of, cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans.
Radiography processes had been strengthened and were operating in accordance with relevant guidance. Evidence was provided to support revised CBCT referral procedures.
All recommendations identified within the fire and Legionella risk assessments had been fully completed. Identified risks had been addressed and effective systems were in place to support ongoing in-house monitoring and management.
Systems for monitoring and maintaining staff training had been comprehensively reviewed. Evidence demonstrated that effective arrangements were in place to ensure training remained current.
Staff had completed additional training to ensure compliance with key clinical requirements, including disability and autism awareness, fire safety, and safeguarding. Clinical staff had undertaken appropriate training to support the provision of local anaesthetic under direct access arrangements.
Audit processes had been strengthened to ensure they effectively identified areas for improvement. Evidence demonstrated that audit outcomes were reviewed, reflected upon, and were supported by documented action plans where required.
The practice had also made further improvements:
Head Office staffing arrangements had been enhanced, including the introduction of a dedicated compliance team to support the wider group and access to a newly implemented dental compliance platform across all locations.
A comprehensive health and safety risk assessment was in place and covered all relevant areas of the practice to help ensure the safety of staff and people using the service.
A valid gas safety certificate was available for review.
Risk assessments and safety data sheets were available for all hazardous substances used by the practice cleaner. Appropriate training had been provided to ensure cleaning staff understood the associated risks and the actions required in the event of an emergency.
