Governance, management and sustainability

Score: 2

The service did not always demonstrate good governance due to gaps in the effective oversight of some processes including staff training and supervision, infection prevention and control, premises-related risk management, and regulatory requirements associated with operating a registered service. However, when we informed the service of these issues, immediate action was taken to rectify them. At the time of the assessment the service’s registered manager and partnership registration details were not up to date, and an appropriate statement of purpose was not in place. In addition, the business plan had not been reviewed or updated for a significant period. Action was taken to rectify the registration issues and leaders told us the business plan would be updated collaboratively with staff in the coming months.

All staff we spoke with were clear on their individual roles and responsibilities. Staff could access all required policies and procedures. Leaders held regular meetings with staff and recorded any actions that arose from these meetings.

Staff took confidentiality and information security seriously and had completed data security awareness training.
