We assessed all five key questions to establish if the services provided are safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led. We rated the service as good overall and good for all key questions. There were sufficient numbers of staff. Overall, medicines were well managed. Care and treatment were provided in line with best practice guidance. People who used the service were treated with kindness and compassion and staff protected their privacy and dignity. People could access the service readily. The provider worked to reduce health and care inequalities and patients were well-supported to access the service and other community health and social care resources. There were clear systems for governance and the provider worked to continuously improve the service for people and staff. Overall, staff feedback was positive although some areas for the provider to review have been identified.
People's experience of this service
People who used the service were invited to provide feedback directly to CQC and we received 34 responses. The majority (97%) reported positive experiences with feedback indicating satisfaction with care and treatment, access and interactions with staff. The results of the National GP Patient Survey were overall in-line with the national averages for patient satisfaction. The results showed that overall, people felt positive about their experience of contacting the service; people felt listened to, treated with care and concern and involved in decisions about their care and treatment. Recent results from the NHS Friends and Family Test, showed people were positive about their experience of the service. There was a newly established Patient Participation Group (PPG) who told us that the provider was working with them to gain people’s feedback about what was working well and where improvements could be made. When people raised an issue about their care and treatment this was appropriately responded to and any action needed was used to improve the service.
