Our view of the service

Date of Assessment: 23 September 2025 to 7 October 2025. London Vale Practice is a GP practice and delivers service to approximately 15,000 patients under a contract held with NHS England. (The National General Practice Profiles states that at the time of our assessment 80.5% registered were White, 12.7% Asian and 2.2% Black).Information published by Office for Health Improvement and Disparities shows that deprivation within the practice population group is in the 10th decile (10 of 10). The lower the decile, the more deprived the practice population is relative to others. This assessment considered the demographics of the people using the service, the context the service was working within and how this impacted service delivery. Where relevant, further commentary is provided in the quality statements section of this report.

This was a comprehensive inspection and, we identified issues relating to staff training, immunisation and recruitment processes which resulted in a breach of Regulation 17 (Good governance). The governance systems and oversight arrangements at the practice required strengthening. You can find more details about our concerns in the well-led key question findings below. We asked the provider for an action plan in response to these concerns.

We rated the practice good overall, with safe, effective, caring, and responsive rated as good and well-led rated as requires improvement.

People's experience of this service

The National GP Patient Survey showed people were involved in decisions about their care and treatment during their last general practice appointment. Recent survey results indicated 94%of the respondents had confidence and trust in the healthcare professional they saw or spoke to during their last general practice appointment.

Feedback from Friends and Family test were positive regarding helpful and friendly reception staff and access to appointments.

The practice did not have an active patient participation group (PPG) but was reviewing ways of engaging with patients that more accurately reflected the practice population.
