This service scored 75 (out of 100) for this area. Find out what we look at when we assess this area and How we calculate these scores.
Kindness, compassion and dignity
The service always treated people with kindness, empathy and compassion and respected their privacy and dignity. Staff treated colleagues from other organisations with kindness and respect.
The service performed better than the national and ICS averages across most indicators in the 2025 National GP Patient Survey. Of the 129 respondents (30% completion rate from 431 surveys), 97% had confidence and trust in the healthcare professional they saw or spoke to, compared with 93% nationally. In addition, 96% felt involved in decisions about their care and treatment, compared with 91% nationally, 98% felt the healthcare professional they saw had all the information they needed about them, compared with 92% nationally, and 90% felt they were treated with care and concern, compared with 86% nationally. Furthermore, 92% found reception and administrative staff helpful, compared with 83% nationally. This was consistent with feedback gathered during our inspection. All five patients who completed questionnaires told us staff were professional, knowledgeable and organised, that their care was explained clearly, and that they were involved in decisions about their treatment. All five patients reported they were always treated with kindness, dignity and respect and that their privacy was respected. Members of the service’s Patient Participation Group also complimented reception staff on their attitude, kindness and consistency and noted visible improvements under the new management. During our inspection, we observed arrangements to protect patient privacy at reception, including a private room for confidential discussions, and privacy curtains in clinical rooms. Chaperone information was displayed in waiting areas and clinical rooms.
