Equity in experiences and outcomes
Staff and leaders actively listened to information about people who are most likely to experience inequality in experience or outcomes and tailored their care, support and treatment in response to this.
Overall feedback provided by people using the service was positive. For example, results from the 2025 National GP Patient Survey showed that 95% of respondents felt that their needs were met during their last general practice appointment. This was above the local and national averages of 90%. Patients also reported being actively involved in decisions about their care and treatment, with 96% of respondents saying they were involved in decisions as much as they wanted to be. This was above the local and national averages of 91%.
Leaders proactively sought ways to address any barriers to improving people’s experience and worked with local organisations, including their own primary care network to address any local health inequalities and improve outcomes.
Staff understood the importance of providing an inclusive approach to care and made adjustments to support equity in people’s experience and outcomes. Examples, of actions included access to longer or early morning appointments, and through the provision of interpretation services or translated materials.
