Our view of the service

We carried out an announced inspection of New Cross Health Centre on 15 and 16 May 2025. New Cross Health Centre is a GP practice and delivers services to approximately 9827 patients under a contract held with NHS England.

The National General Practice Profile states the ethnic make up of the practice area is 44.83% White, 31.21% Black, 10.32% Asian, 7.92% Mixed, and 5.72% Other.

Information published by Office for Health Improvement and Disparities shows that deprivation within the practice population group is in the 3rd decile (3 of 10). The lower the decile, the more deprived the practice population is relative to others.

This assessment considered the demographics of the people using the service, the context the service was working within and how this impacted service delivery. Where relevant, further commentary is provided in the quality statements section of this report.

People's experience of this service

People were generally positive about the quality of their care and treatment. The National GP Patient survey results showed patients sometimes found it difficult to access services. The provider sought the views of patients through surveys and acted based on survey results. There was an active patient participation group (PPG) who represented the views of people using the service.
