Our view of the service

Date of Assessment: 3 to 16 December 2025. Ringmead Medical Group is a GP practice and delivers service to approximately 40,500 patients under a contract held with NHS England. The service operates from 5 sites. The National General Practice Profiles states 87% of the service population are White and 6% Asian, with the remainder made up of Black, Mixed and other ethnicities. Information published by Office for Health Improvement and Disparities shows that deprivation within the service population group is in the 8 decile (8 of 10). The lower the decile, the more deprived the practice population is relative to others. This assessment considered the demographics of the people using the service, the context the service was working within and how this impacted service delivery. Where relevant, further commentary is provided in the quality statements section of this report.

We carried out this inspection to follow up 2 breaches of regulation identified at our last assessment in January 2024 in relation to safe care and treatment and good governance. We assessed 16 quality statements across the safe, effective, responsive, and well-led key questions.

At this assessment, the provider demonstrated it had made changes which have improved the quality of care for patients with long-term conditions and ensured national guidance is followed when medicines requiring monitoring are prescribed. Systems and processes related to the recruitment, supervision and training of staff have also improved. Changes have also been made to improve governance processes within the practice. These included the management of premises and environmental risks as well as identifying learning from complaints and incidents in the practice.

The service is no longer in breach of the legal regulations relating to safe care and treatment and good governance. We have therefore removed the conditions placed on the provider's registration following our January 2024 assessment.

People's experience of this service

Feedback provided to the Care Quality Commission (CQC) by people that had used the service was mixed. National data including the GP national survey also indicated that not all patients were satisfied with their experience of care and treatment from the service however, there were no significant themes within the feedback from people using the service. Feedback included difficulties obtaining annual reviews and monitoring of conditions. Other areas of feedback included delays or issues obtaining repeat prescriptions, difficulties accessing the service both online or via the telephone and that the complaints process could be simpler to understand.

Positive feedback reported that patients had experienced kind, courteous and compassionate care when receiving treatment from the service. Individual clinicians were praised for their care and approach and some patients had found the methods of access to the service had operated well for their needs.

This assessment included all the areas reported by patients and although some patients reported dissatisfaction with their experience, we found the provider was already aware of the concerns and had acted in response.
