Our view of the service

We carried out an announced inspection of Lakeside Medical Practice. This included remote clinical searches on 8 July 2025 and a site visit on 10 July 2025. Lakeside Medical Practice is a GP practice and delivers service to approximately 19120 patients under a contract held with NHS England.

The National General Practice Profiles states that the ethnic make up of the practice area is 43.5% White, 39% Black, 9.7% Asian, 4.7% Mixed and 3.1% Other.

Information published by Office for Health Improvement and Disparities shows that deprivation within the practice population group is in the 4th decile (4 of 10). The lower the decile, the more deprived the practice population is relative to others.

This inspection considered the demographics of the patients using the service, the context the service was working within and how this impacted service delivery. Where relevant, further commentary is provided in the quality statements section of this report.

People's experience of this service

Patients were positive about the quality of their care and treatment. We received 197 Give Feedback on Care forms as part of this inspection. Of these, 175 were positive about the service received, 20 were negative, and 2 contained mixed feedback. Positive comments referred to good access, friendly staff and patients feeling respected and listened to. Patients told us GPs advocated for their patients and gave examples of adjustments that were made so patients with disabilities could access the service in ways that met their needs. Negative feedback referred to some difficulty using the online appointment system and long waits on the telephone. National GP Patient Survey results showed patients were satisfied with access to services and the care received.
