Equity in access
The service made sure people could access the care, support and treatment they needed when they needed it.
The service took steps to remove barriers to accessing services. For example, autistic people and people with learning difficulties could have extended appointments if required.
Treatment rooms were available on the ground floor and first floor. Patients who required ground floor access were accommodated with this. Ramped access was provided to ensure ease of access to the premises.
The service performed better than national averages in the results of the 2025 National GP Patient Survey. This showed people could access the service when they needed it in a way that suited their needs, such as by telephone, in person or through the service’s website. For example, 55% of respondents to the survey responded positively to how easy it was to contact the practice on the phone, compared to a national average of 53%.
Equity in experiences and outcomes
Staff and leaders actively listened to information about people who were most likely to experience inequality in experience or outcomes. They tailored their care, support and treatment in response to this.
Staff understood the importance of providing an inclusive approach to care and they made adjustments to promote this. Staff had completed training in equality, diversity, and inclusion. We did not see evidence of discrimination when staff made care and treatment decisions.
The results of the National GP patient survey showed that 97% of respondents (compared to 90% nationally) felt their needs were met during their last general practice appointment and 81% responded positively about their overall experience of the practice (compared to 75% nationally).
