Caring
We looked for evidence the service involved people and treated them with compassion, kindness, dignity and respect. This was a focused assessment, which meant we did not assess all quality statements. Our rating is determined from the findings of both this assessment and our previous assessment. At our last assessment, we rated this key question as outstanding, and this remains unchanged due to the focused nature of this assessment. However, updated quality statement scores have been issued where relevant.
This service scored 95 (out of 100) for this area. Find out what we look at when we assess this area and How we calculate these scores.
Kindness, compassion and dignity
The service treated people with kindness, empathy and compassion and respected their privacy and dignity. Staff treated colleagues from other organisations with kindness and respect.
The service had arrangements to promote people’s privacy. The service performed better than the national average in the results of the 2026 National GP Patient Survey. This showed people felt listened to and felt they were treated with kindness. For example, 92% of respondents to the survey felt the healthcare professional at their last appointment was good at treating them with care and concern, compared to a national average of 86%. Feedback received during the assessment was also positive about the kindness and compassion shown by staff.
During the assessment, we found blinds in some clinical rooms were damaged and did not provide full screening, which could affect people’s privacy. Curtains were available around examination couches to provide additional screening. Following feedback from the assessment, the provider told us the damaged blinds would be replaced.
