This service scored 75 (out of 100) for this area. Find out what we look at when we assess this area and How we calculate these scores.

Kindness, compassion and dignity

Score: 3

The service always treated people with kindness, empathy and compassion and respected their privacy and dignity. Staff treated colleagues from other organisations with kindness and respect.
People consistently described being treated with kindness, empathy and compassion. Staff described using a private room for confidential conversations when sensitive matters need to be discussed away from the reception area. In clinical rooms, privacy curtains were in place.

Results from the 2026 National GP Patient Survey were significantly higher than national averages and showed people had confidence and trust in healthcare professionals and felt involved in decisions about their care and treatment. For example, 100% of respondents reported confidence and trust in the healthcare professional they saw, 100% felt involved in decisions about their care and treatment and 96% said the healthcare professional was good at listening to them. This was reflected in feedback from people using the service through the services Friends and Family Test, where 95.9% of respondents rated their experience as good or very good. People particularly praised staff kindness, professionalism, communication and the care they received. The service promoted continuity of care through people having named GPs. Staff described how these long-term relationships helped them develop trust with people and better understand their individual circumstances, families and changing needs. For example, leaders described how continuity of care supported the early identification of changes in people's health and wellbeing, including signs of cognitive decline, enabling staff to respond appropriately and provide personalised support.
