Outstanding

24 September 2026

We looked for evidence the provider involved people and treated them with compassion, kindness, dignity and respect. This was a focused assessment, which meant we did not assess all quality statements. Our rating is determined from the findings of both this assessment and our previous assessment(s). At our last assessment, we rated this key question as outstanding and this remains unchanged due to the focused nature of this assessment. However, updated quality statement scores have been issued where relevant.

This service scored 90 (out of 100) for this area. Find out what we look at when we assess this area and How we calculate these scores.

Kindness, compassion and dignity

Score: 3

The provider treated people with kindness, empathy and compassion and respected people’s privacy and dignity. Staff always treated colleagues from other organisations with kindness and respect. The provider recognised the challenges patients had in later life given the lack of a care home close by, and ensured patients could remain at home for as long as possible. In the 2026 National GP Patient Survey, 100% of respondents described the overall experience at the practice as good. This was above the national average of 77% and a local average of 80%. Furthermore 100% of respondents felt listened to during their most recent appointment, this is compared with a national average of 87% and a local average of 89%.

The provider had arrangements to promote people’s privacy. There was a private room available for patients to speak with reception staff if requested. This showed the provider was taking steps to maintain people’s privacy, people felt listened to and felt they were treated with kindness. The service’s PPG told us leaders listened to them, and the practice cared about the needs of the local community.

The practice grounds had a garden which was maintained by patients, made up of flowers vegetables and fruit. This was set up by a member of the nursing team who recognised the risk of loneliness to patients. Patients were able to volunteer as much or as little time as they wanted to help. Leaders had begun sourcing funding for a path in the garden to make it accessible for patients who may need mobility assistance.

Patients praised staff for being kind. Friends and family feedback we reviewed was very positive toward the provider.
