Equity in access
The practice made sure that people could access the care, support and treatment they needed when they needed it. In addition to the practice’s core hours, appointments were available during weekends. Patients could access the practice through a variety of routes, including telephone, face to face and online. Home visits were available and requests were reviewed by on-call clinician and allocated to the most appropriate clinician or service based on clinical need.
Comments received by CQC indicated patients were generally positive about access to services. Of the 5 we received, 2 reported experiencing difficulties when trying to access appointments.
Feedback from the National GP Patient Survey 2026 showed 58% (national average 57%) of patients found it easy to get through to the service by telephone. In addition, 50% of patients found it easy to contact the practice via the website compared with a national average of 58%.
Consultations were conducted on the ground floor, with accessible corridors and hallways for wheelchair users and those using pushchairs. Interpretation services were available when required. The practice was accredited as a Veteran Friendly Practice, supporting veterans to access appropriate care and services.
