Our view of the service

Date of Assessment: 6 January 2026 to 13 January 2026.

Manor Field Surgery is a GP practice in Maltby, Rotherham. The practice delivers services to around 7,000 people under a contract held with NHS England. The National General Practice Profiles states that the ethnic make-up of the practice area was 97.56% White, 0.9% Asian, 0.85% Black, 0.35% and other ethnicities 0.3%. Information published by Office for Health Improvement and Disparities shows that deprivation within the practice population group is in the 2nd decile (2 of 10). The lower the decile, the more deprived the practice population is relative to others.

We carried out an assessment and rated this practice under our previous methodology in December 2017. The practice was rated Good overall and for all key questions except responsive which was rated as Outstanding. This assessment was carried out due to the length of time since our previous assessment.

This assessment considered the demographics of the people using the service, the context the service was working within and how this impacted service delivery. Where relevant, further commentary is provided in the quality statements section of this report.

People's experience of this service

People were mostly positive about the quality of their care and treatment. Recent survey results, including from the National GP Patient Survey and the NHS Friends and Family Test, showed people were satisfied with services with 76% describing their overall experience of this GP practice as good, the national average is 75%. There was an active patient participation group (PPG) who represented the views of people using the service. Following feedback from patients, after total triage was introduced, the practice procured tablets which could be used at reception, for patients to access services when they were unable to do so at home. Following feedback from the PPG, one of the triage questions that had been introduced was amended to make it less complicated for patients.
