Our view of the service

Penshurst Garden Surgery is a GP practice and delivers service to approximately 7300 patients under a contract held with NHS England. Information published by Office for Health Improvement and Disparities shows that deprivation within the practice population group is in the 8th decile (8 of 10). The lower the decile, the more deprived the practice population is relative to others. This assessment considered the demographics of the people using the service, the context the service was working within and how this impacted service delivery. Where relevant, further commentary is provided in the quality statements section of this report.

People were involved in planning their care and understood options around choosing to withdraw or not receive care.

People's experience of this service

People were positive about the quality of their care and treatment. However, the most recent published National GP Patient Survey results at the time this assessment was conducted, indicated some people felt they could not always get an appointment when they needed to. The service told us they were taking action to improve this because of feedback received. This was being achieved through increased promotion of different types of appointments with a variety of clinical staff, accessible by using both traditional and online methods.
