Well-led
Well-led – this means we looked for evidence that service leadership, management and governance assured high-quality, person-centred care; supported learning and innovation; and promoted an open, fair culture.
At our last assessment we rated this key question requires improvement. At this assessment the rating has changed to good.
This meant the service was consistently managed and well-led. Leaders and the culture they created promoted high-quality, person-centred care.
The service had made improvements and was no longer in breach of regulation in relation to governance..

Governance, management and sustainability
The provider had clear responsibilities, roles, systems of accountability and good governance. They used these to manage and deliver good quality, sustainable care, treatment and support. They acted on the best information about risk, performance and outcomes, and shared this securely with others when appropriate.
The provider had taken action to improve manager and staff understanding of roles and responsibilities across the organisation. The management team had completed in-house sessions which identified where improvements could be made to ensure responsibilities for oversight were known and understood. Learning from these sessions was shared with deputy managers and team leaders.
Senior managers had delivered presentations, focused on safeguarding, to managers across the organisation and the whole staff team. Safeguarding was included as an agenda item at staff meetings and discussed in supervisions. Staff spot checks had been redesigned and there was a clearer focus on safeguarding.
Weekly audits were carried out regarding safeguarding, complaints, accident and incident reports, and were effectively reviewed to check outcomes were timely and appropriate. Safeguarding notifications to CQC were routinely being submitted. Complaints logs and incident logs consistently reflected what actions had been taken to mitigate risk and improve people’s outcomes.
Partnerships and communities

Learning, improvement and innovation
The provider focused on continuous learning, innovation and improvement across the organisation and local system.
The provider had taken action to address and resolve the issues identified at the last inspection. Additional training had been provided to ensure staff had the skills necessary to meet people’s needs. Ninety percent of staff had completed training on how to support people with a learning disability or autism.
Staff were now recruited safely and necessary pre-employment checks completed to ensure their suitability for employment in the care sector.
The provider had reviewed and updated their safeguarding procedures to ensure safety concerns were promptly alerted and investigated where appropriate. Staff responsibilities were now clearly defined, and systems had been introduced to ensure required actions were completed. Additional safeguarding training had been provided and induction training included details of how to record safeguarding concerns on the care planning system.
