Our view of the service
Kinvara Private Hospital Limited is an independent hospital owned by The Karri Clinic Ltd. It is registered to provide the following regulated activities; treatment of disease, disorder or injury, surgical procedures, diagnostic and screening procedures.
The hospital’s head of clinical services is the registered manager with CQC. The hospital provides a range of elective day-case and in-patient surgery treatments for NHS and other funded (insured and self-pay) adults, (the service did not admit children).
The hospital provided a range of specialities including gynaecology, orthopaedic surgery, cosmetic surgery, and general surgery. The surgery service has 21 beds. These were arranged as 10 single ensuite rooms and 2 double rooms with ensuite and 1 quadruple room with ensuite across two floors. At the time of our inspection the service had recently opened a new ward which provided them with 1 triple room with an ensuite facility. There were 2 operating theatres and 2 anaesthetic rooms. There was a separate recovery area.
The on-site assessment was unannounced and was carried out between 4-5 September 2025. We assessed 33 quality statements from the safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led key questions to give the rating.
The main service provided by this hospital is surgery and there was a dedicated outpatient's department. We assessed surgery only on this occasion. We previously inspected both surgery and outpatients at this service on 17 May 2023.
During the assessment, we spoke with staff, leaders, people who use the service and stakeholders. We looked at care records, policies and other documents relating to the service.
