Kindness, compassion and dignity
Staff treated patients with kindness, respect and compassion. We observed positive interactions between staff and patients both in person and on the telephone. Staff displayed an understanding of patients’ needs and showed warmth and compassion to patients.
Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice.
Patient comments included that staff were welcoming and attentive, acted with integrity, and showed compassion.
One patient told us, “My dentist and hygienist demonstrate the most exceptional skill and knowledge, always making me feel at ease when I need treatment. I particularly appreciate how they take extra care to address my anxiety about injections. Their gentle approach and reassuring nature always makes a huge difference, allowing me to feel more comfortable.”
Patients said staff were professional, courteous, and considerate.
Comments included, “From the moment I open the door it's such a lovely experience. Receptionists are so lovely, smiley, always helpful, always do their best to help. And always have a lovely chat. Every nurse, dentist, orthodontist, all of them are so amazing, professional, experienced, I can fall asleep during my treatment no matter what it is. The dentist always makes sure I’m comfortable, not in pain, keeping me calm, explaining every step of the treatment, gentle and the most important so good at their job.”
Patients felt they were treated as individuals, and their personal and cultural needs were respected.
People received care from staff who were aware of their responsibility to respect people’s diversity and human rights, and of the importance of privacy and confidentiality.
Staff felt respected, valued and supported in their roles, and their wellbeing was supported.
One staff member told us, “I love working here. I am a new member of staff, but everyone (owners, staff, other clinical organisations etc) have been very welcoming, friendly, professional, and supportive in both my initial training and within my day to day role.”
