Caring
This means we looked for evidence that the service involved people and treated them with compassion, kindness, dignity and respect.
At our last assessment we rated this key question good. At this follow up assessment, the rating remained good.
This meant that people were supported and treated with dignity and respect and involved in partners in care.
We have not awarded this service a score for Caring. Find out about when we will not publish a key question score and what we look at when we assess Caring.

Treating people as individuals
The service treated people as individuals and made sure people’s care, support and treatment met people’s needs and preferences. They took account of people’s strengths, abilities, aspirations, culture and unique backgrounds and protected characteristics.
It was identified at the last assessment that staff were not always made aware of patients’ specific needs in advance of their appointment, as the medical questionnaire did not include prompts about accessibility or communication requirements. As a result, staff were sometimes unable to prepare or make necessary adjustments ahead of time, which could impact the overall patient experience and the service’s ability to deliver truly personalised care.
At this assessment, improvements were seen in the changes to the medical questionnaire that was sent to all patients. This now asked for information around additional support needs for example learning and physical disabilities, visual and hearing impairment, the need for an interpreter or chaperone. This enabled staff to make provision for extra support needs prior to the persons arrival. This could include allowing extra time in appointments.
The service now had access to a “translator pen” which could be scanned over English text and translate it into other languages to aid where English was not their first language so that written information could be read.
