Our view of the service
Date of Assessment: 24 April to 5 May 2025. Hampshire Travel and Vaccination Clinic is an independent health service. Where relevant, further commentary is provided in the quality statements section of this report. This inspection was a follow up to our previous inspection in January 2020, which had identified a breach of regulation. Our previous inspection identified a lack of overall good governance and safe systems and processes. During this inspection, improvements had been made to this area. For example, staff told us that they could raise concerns or report incidents or significant events. However, lessons learnt were not evident to demonstrate the service continued to identify and embed good practice.
There were enough qualified staff within the organisation, but oversight of training was limited to ensure training modules were kept up to date and in line with the provider’s own policies. The facilities and equipment met the needs of people, were clean and well-maintained but there was a lack of cleaning schedules recorded. However, any risks within the premises had been identified and mitigated. Staff managed the storage of vaccines well and the service involved people in planning any changes to their treatment.
We identified a continued breach of the legal regulations relating to overall governance. We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this inspection.
People's experience of this service
As part of this inspection, we requested CQC’s ‘Give Feedback on Care’ link be shared with patients to gain feedback about the service. However, no submissions were made to CQC to be considered for this inspection. It was noted during the inspection, patients have previously shared feedback published via online reviews which stated that some people were not always satisfied with the service they received. For example, comments included patients feeling rushed. These were dated from 2025.
