Our view of the service

We undertook an assessment of Queens Court between 14 to 20 August 2025. We visited the service on 14 August 2025. Queens Court is a care home with nursing. It can accommodate up to 62 people. At the time of our visit, 60 people were living at the service. Accommodation was provided over 3 floors. Most people living at the service were living with dementia and some had nursing needs.

The inspection was prompted in part by concerns we received about the home. We also decided to inspect the home as the last inspection had taken place in December 2018.

People received safe and effective care and were protected from the risk of avoidable harm. People received their medicines as prescribed. There were good systems to protect people from the risk of infection and cross contamination and staff followed good practice. The service was clean, fresh and well-maintained. There were systems in place for the safe recruitment of staff. People and their relatives were involved in their pre-admission assessment, care planning and the management of individual risks. Staff received regular training and had their competencies checked. Staff spoke favourably of the management team and felt listened to and consulted. The provider’s monitoring systems were effective.

People's experience of this service

People told us they were happy living at the service and were treated with kindness by the staff. Their comments included, “I don’t think you will find anyone here who is lonely. The carers and all the staff are really lovely” and “I must say the staff here are very good and they are all getting to know me, what I like and what I want.” They added they felt safe and well looked after. One person told us, “I always feel safe here. There is always someone around if I need them.”
