Our view of the service
The Coach House is a residential care home. People in care homes receive accommodation and nursing or personal care as a single package under one contractual agreement. The Coach House is a care home with nursing, CQC regulates both the premises, and the care provided, and both were looked at during this assessment. The Coach House provides support for up to 13 older people, younger adults, people with a physical disability or sensory impairment. The service is set over 3 floors. There are spacious communal areas and gardens and people have their own individual rooms. At the time of assessment 11 people were using the service.
We carried out an on-site assessment on the 3 and 4 April 2025. The assessment was completed to follow up on the last assessment to see if improvements had been made. This assessment was unannounced.
The provider was previously in breach of legal regulation in relation to safe care and treatment and good governance. Improvements were not found at this assessment, and the provider remained in breach of regulation. In addition, we found the provider was in breach of staffing.
We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this assessment. Where the CQC have decided to take civil or criminal enforcement action against a provider, we will publish this information on our website after any representations and/ or appeals have been concluded.
People's experience of this service
We received positive feedback from relatives who were complimentary of the care people received. Observation of staff demonstrated they knew people well and had good relationships with the people they were supporting.
