Our view of the service

We inspected this service using our comprehensive inspection methodology. We carried out a short announced inspection on 12 March 2026. We assessed all quality statements from the safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led key questions.

HELLO BABY is operated by Katie Ellison Limited. The service provides a range of private ultrasound scans in 2D, 4D and HD LIVE for self-funding pregnant women aged 18 years and over. We refer to women in this report, but we recognise that some transgender men, non-binary people and people with variations in sex characteristics (VSC) or who are intersex may also use these services. The service had a registered manager in post since initial registration and was registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to provide the regulated activity diagnostic and screening procedures. All scans were performed by the registered manager who was the ultrasound technician and the service employed 4 receptionists.

During our inspection, we viewed rooms used by the service, this included the reception area and administrative areas and the scanning room. We spoke with 3 members of staff, the registered manager and 2 women using the service.

We reviewed a wide range of policies, procedures and audits. We reviewed staff recruitment files, competency and training records, and appraisals. We also observed 2 scans.

People's experience of this service

We asked women using the service to provide feedback by completing the ‘Give feedback on care’ form. No responses were received.

Women we spoke to using the service told us they felt supported. They told us staff were professional, kind and welcoming.
