Our view of the service
We assessed Head Office on 03 February 2026.
We carried out a focussed assessment to determine whether improvements had been made against the breaches identified at the last assessment in July 2023, and concerns made to Care Quality Commission (CQC).
At the previous assessment we found breaches in medicines management and good governance. Staff did not always have an appraisal or one planned and staff did not feel they could raise concerns. At this assessment we found the service had taken action to address all the concerns identified at the previous inspection. We found a breach of regulation in relation to good governance.
Head Office is operated by Medicare EMS Group UK Limited. It is an independent ambulance provider based in Chelmsford, Essex and Hartlepool. The service provides medical cover and emergency transfers to hospital for large event organisers. Events are not within our scope of regulation and therefore we do not inspect events. However, at some events, the service provided emergency transport and this is within our scope of regulation.
This Independent Ambulance service provided the following activities: Transport services, triage and medical advice provided remotely and Treatment of disease, disorder or injury on behalf of East of England Ambulance Service.
