Staff treated patients with kindness, respect and compassion. We observed positive interactions between staff and patients both in person and on the telephone. Staff displayed an understanding of patients’ needs and showed warmth and compassion to patients.

Patient comments included that staff were welcoming and attentive, acted with integrity, and showed compassion.
One patient told us, “I have been using Birchwood Dental for many years now. I cannot speak highly enough of them. My dentist is nothing short of a miracle worker! Despite being a full-grown woman the dentist has been a huge phobia my whole life. I have gone from being a crying wreck in the waiting room who had to have their daughter in the surgery holding their hand to walking to the dentist on my own without a second thought. This is entirely down to the Birchwood team who are patient ,supportive and extremely kind, they always put you at ease and make you feel understood and empathised with.”
Patients said staff were professional, courteous, and considerate.
Patients felt they were treated as individuals, and their personal and cultural needs were respected.
We were provided with a patient satisfaction audit which showed that 96% of responses rated the practice as outstanding.
People received care from staff who were aware of their responsibility to respect people’s diversity and human rights, and of the importance of privacy and confidentiality.
Staff felt respected, valued and supported in their roles, and their wellbeing was supported.
A staff member told us, “This has been an excellent place to begin my career. The principals and team have created a welcoming, supportive, and professional environment where I have been encouraged to develop my confidence, work to my full scope of practice, and continue expanding my skills. I feel valued as part of the team and look forward to continuing my career here.”
Another said, “I find the practice is a very good place to work from my personal experience and this is because I feel supported from all members of staff.”
