Kindness, compassion and dignity

Regulations met

Staff treated patients with kindness, respect and compassion. We observed positive interactions between staff and patients both in person and on the telephone. Staff displayed an understanding of patients’ needs and showed warmth and compassion to patients.

Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice.

Comments included, “Alexandra practice were absolutely brilliant. I am not the biggest fan of dentists due to my fear of needles and previous procedures that I'm told were not needed. Alexandra practice were amazing with my care, receptionists were polite and understanding, my dentist and dental nurse were nothing but consummate professionals. They put me at ease, spoke to me like an adult and advised me with genuine care.

[The dentist] is an absolute star and I can't rate herself, the nurses and receptionist of the practice high enough.”

Patient comments included that staff were welcoming and attentive, acted with integrity, and showed compassion.

Patients said staff were professional, courteous, and considerate.

Patients felt they were treated as individuals, and their personal and cultural needs were respected.

People received care from staff who were aware of their responsibility to respect people’s diversity and human rights, and of the importance of privacy and confidentiality.

Most staff felt respected, valued and supported in their roles, and felt that their wellbeing was supported.

One staff member told us, “It is a very good place to work, I feeling relaxed and I enjoy working with all the team.”

Another said, “All staff respect each other and support each other.”
