Our view of the service

Date of assessment: 7 January 2026 to 15 January 2026. The assessment was carried out due to the length of time since the last assessment. Windsor Court is a residential care home, providing support to people with learning disabilities and complex needs for up to 8 people. At the time of our assessment there were 8 people living at the service.

We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. We found people received care and support in accordance with the principles of this guidance.

People were supported by caring and compassionate staff who consistently treated them with dignity and respect. Staff had developed strong, trusting relationships with people and their families, which helped create a sense of security and belonging. These positive relationships enabled staff to understand individual preferences and provided personalised care.

People's experience of this service

We received positive feedback about the quality of care by the service and people told us they felt safe and well cared for. Comments included, “Staff are helpful, respectful and kind. They go far and beyond what is expected of them. This is a good home.” Staff supported people to maintain good health by monitoring their health and wellbeing and arranging regular check-ups. People were supported to take part in activities they enjoyed and to engage with their local community.

Observations for those not able to verbally communicate showed positive staff interactions and engagement. We observed staff offering choices, responding to emotional needs, and promoting dignity and comfort.
