Our view of the service

Date of Inspection: 27 May to 17 June 2026.

Care Assist Limited provides care and support to people with a learning disability, autistic people and mental health needs within a shared supported living setting. At the time of our inspection,15 people were being supported with the regulated activity of personal care. We visited the providers officeand1supported living scheme on 27 May2026.

The inspection was announced and took place as part of our regular monitoring role. The rating at the last inspection April 2020 was “Good” and after this inspection has remained “Good”.

This was a comprehensive assessment and included all the quality statements across our five key questions.

We expect health and social care providers to guarantee autistic people and people with a learning disability the choices, dignity ,independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. Right support, right care, right culture is the statutory guidance which supports CQC to make assessments and judgements about services providing support to people with a learning disability and/or autistic people. We considered this guidance as the service is registered for people who have a learning disability and/or who are autistic. The service met this guidance.

People were supported to receive safe, person-centred care that reflected their assessed needs and preferences. People told us they felt safe using the service and safeguarding and whistleblowing systems were clearly understood by staff. Risks to people’s health, safety and wellbeing were well assessed, with management plans in place to mitigate identified risks, including environmental, infection prevention and medicines-related risks. Staff demonstrated a good understanding of incident reporting, safeguarding procedures and consent, and people’s liberty and rights were respected.

Staff were recruited safely and given an effective induction and ongoing training support to ensure they had the skills to support people. There were enough staff to meet people’s needs and people received care from a stable staff team, which supported continuity of care.

Quality monitoring took place and was effective within the service. Actions were identified for follow up and team leaders and staff took action, which improved the service people received.
