The service should tell CQC if they make any changes to the services they provide (outcome 15)

Meeting this standard

We checked that people who use this service

  • Will benefit from the knowledge that the Care Quality Commission is informed of the services being provided.

How this check was done

We looked at the personal care or treatment records of people who use the service and carried out a visit on 16 January 2013.

Our judgement

We found a statement of purpose which meant that the service met the standard.

Reasons for our judgement

The service provider had a statement of purpose produced at the time of registration with minimal information and which did not mention live-in care. We inspected an updated statement of purpose which the provider had produced since then. We found that it contained more detail however some of this information such as about access and fees would have been better placed in a service user guide. This revised version did not mention live-in care although the manager told us this was the main kind of service they wanted to provide.

The provider may like to note that the full requirements of the standard about a statement of purpose which require information about the kinds of services to be provided.
