Our view of the service

We undertook a follow-up on-site assessment on 7 March 2025. This was carried out to review the actions taken by the registered provider to improve the quality of care and to assess whether the practice was meeting legal requirements.

We had previously undertaken an announced on-site assessment of Greg Gossayn Dental Surgery on 15 January 2025. We had found the registered provider was not providing safe, effective or well-led care and was in breach of regulations 12 (safe care and treatment), 17 (good governance) and 19 (fit and proper persons employed), of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014.

During our follow-up assessment, we assessed the improvements made by the practice in respect to Regulation 12 and 19. We will be assessing the improvements made by the practice in respect to Regulation 17 after the improvements have become embedded. We found the practice had met regulations in respect to Regulation 19 but had not fully met regulations in respect to Regulation 12.

The practice had made improvements to systems to effectively manage risks associated with fire safety and radiation safety. Recruitment procedures had improved and reflected current legislation.

However, while infection control procedures had improved, they did not fully follow published guidance, and the practice had not fully assessed and mitigated the risks associated with lone working.

Greg Gossayn Dental Surgery practice is in the London Borough of Camden and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children.

The practice had 2 treatment rooms. During the assessment we spoke with the principal dentist, the dental nurse, and the compliance manager.

The provider was not complying with 1 regulation. Full details of the regulation the provider was not meeting are within the quality statement section of the report.

We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this assessment.
