All Inspections

30 January 2014

During a routine inspection

At the time of our inspection the service provided support for 11 people. As part of our inspection we spoke with one person who used the service and four relatives. The person and relatives we spoke with were generally happy with the level of care and support provided by All about U Care Services Limited.

One person told us that staff were, 'Very friendly, very helpful and very professional.' One relative told us, 'They're all very cheerful and sincere and obviously have client welfare at heart.' Another relative told us, "They are a small agency...they are lovely."

We found that the provider had arrangements in place for assessing and recording consent and people's capacity to consent.

We saw that people's care and treatment was planned and reviewed with the person who used the service and their relative's involvement. Risks to people's health, welfare and safety were identified and well managed. Our inspection showed us that the service was safe, responsive and caring.

We found that there were systems in place to ensure that effective cleanliness and infection control practices were followed.

Staff were selected and recruited in a way that ensured they were suitably qualified and fit for the job.

We found that there were some systems in place to assess and improve the quality of service provision. There was an effective complaints process in place. We found that the service was well-led.

25 March 2013

During an inspection looking at part of the service

We found that improvements had been made to the service. Staff recruitment information and training in safeguarding vulnerable adults from abuse had been completed. A system had been put in place for the administration, monitoring and management of the service including more efficient record keeping.

We did not speak to people who used the service on this occasion.

19 December 2012

During a routine inspection

All about U Care Services had some policy and procedures, records, quality assurance and monitoring systems in place. Staff carried out their caring responsibilities well and people and their families were involved in their care arrangements.

People who used the service and their relatives told us that the staff were respectful, patient, caring and kind. They went out of their way to be open and flexible. One person said 'We are so pleased with the service. We were asked what we wanted and when we wanted it, nothing was too much trouble.'

However, there were significant gaps in the information and records required for the protection of people who used the service. These related to the lack of safeguarding guidance and staff training and insufficient evidence of the safe recruitment of staff. There was not an effective management system in place for the monitoring and recording of the quality of the service.

Improvements were needed so that people could be assured of receiving a quality service that was safe and well monitored for their protection.
