Our view of the service
Date of Assessment: 21 May 2026. The service is a residential care home providing support to older people, younger people and people with mental health conditions. We carried out an assessment looking at all quality statements and all key questions. Our decision to inspect the service was due to the length of time since our last inspection. At our last inspection the service was rated good. At this assessment the service remained good.
People received their medicines safely and as prescribed. People lived in a predominantly clean environment. There were systems to investigate and learn from accidents, incidents and safeguarding concerns. People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests; the policies and systems in the service supported this practice.
Risks associated with people’s needs were identified and managed to keep people safe. Staff were trained and supported to carry out their roles effectively. Staff told us leaders were supportive and approachable and gave them the skills and confidence to carry out their role.
People’s needs were assessed and support was delivered in line with their care plans. Staff know people well and understood their needs and preferences. People were supported to stay healthy and to access external healthcare services.
People were treated with kindness, respect and dignity. People were supported to take part in a range of activities in the community. People received personalised care which met their needs and reflected their preferences. People’s human rights were respected.
People had opportunity to feedback about the service and were involved in service improvements. The provider had a complaints procedure and people knew how to raise concerns. People had confidence staff and leaders would act quickly to resolve any issues. People had access to information which was presented in accessible formats.
Systems in place to monitor and review the service were effective in identifying areas for improvements. Staff and leaders worked in collaboration with external professionals to ensure people received appropriate care and support.
