Kindness, compassion and dignity

Regulations met

Staff treated patients with kindness, respect and compassion. We observed positive interactions between staff and patients both in person and on the telephone. Staff displayed an understanding of patients’ needs and showed warmth and compassion to patients.

Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice. One patient said, “Until I became a patient of The French Dental Practice, on Harley Street, I was too afraid to go to the dentist for over 20 years. For me, I was always anxious to see a dentist, and kept putting it off, that was until I found The French Dental Practice. When I became a patient, the difference to my experience was outstanding. I have seen several dentists at the practice, and they all take time to make me feel calm, at ease, and the consultation is not rushed, the treatment is delivered at a pace that is comfortable to me, and the dentist regularly asks me how I am during the treatment delivery, and if I need a break. This experience is better than I have ever had before at the dentist.”

Patient comments included that staff were welcoming and attentive, acted with integrity, and showed compassion. One patient told us, “I have been to many dentists, but this place has been the best by far! The practice manager was very caring and went out their way to give me an appointment. The dentist was also so professional and I felt very at ease with my treatment. I would highly recommend this place!”

Patients said staff were professional, courteous, and considerate.

Patients felt they were treated as individuals, and their personal and cultural needs were respected. One patient told us, “I have been a patient at this dental practice for many years, and the service has consistently been excellent. The team is attentive, caring, and always takes the time to listen to our needs and concerns. They provide clear treatment options and ensure we feel comfortable with any decisions made. I also really appreciate that they follow up after treatments to check on our well-being. My son is also a patient here, and the dentist is incredibly patient with him. They make him feel at ease and adapt their approach to suit his needs, which has made a big difference to his experience.”

People received care from staff who were aware of their responsibility to respect people’s diversity and human rights, and of the importance of privacy and confidentiality.

Staff felt respected, valued and supported in their roles, and their wellbeing was supported.
