During a routine inspection

We spoke with four people who used the agency. People gave positive comments about the care and support they received. Comments included: "They never let us down." "They always arrive on time." "I can't praise them enough." "We have the same carer and it means I can get out without worrying." "It is really good they are smashing."

We looked at how the agency recruited and trained staff. We saw that there was a robust recruitment process to make sure staff were fit to work with vulnerable prople. They had a training plan in place that highlighted when training was due to be updated.

We looked at how they managed complaints and monitored the quality of the service they provided. People told us that a senior member of staff visited them to make sure they were happy with the care and support they received from the agency.

During a routine inspection

During this inspection we spoke with four people who Crossroads Care Salford were supporting. All comments received were positive. Those we spoke with complimented the management and the staff team, describing them as, caring and compassionate. When asked about the service people told us' All the [care workers] are very good and the service is well managed.'

One person told us '[My relative] is housebound and I care for him on a full time basis. The visits allow me to go out and have some time to myself. I don't worry about him because I know my [relative] is well cared for.'

Another person told us, 'My [relative] is taken out once a week. He gets really excited on the day of the visit and stands by the window waiting for the carer to come. They get on really wel.l'

One person said 'we get the same [care worker] each week. The continuity of care is so important for my [relative.]"

All people spoken to said that some ones comes to check if they are happy with the care and service and all confirmed that information about Crossroads Care Salford was provided before the service started including emergency contact numbers and how to make a complaint.

During our inspection we assessed standards relating to care and welfare and how people were supported to be involved in the planning of their own care. We also looked at how they were safeguarded from abuse. Standards relating to staff training and monitoring the quality of service provision were also inspected. We did not identify any concerns in any of the outcome areas we assessed.
