Our view of the service
This unannounced inspection took place on 11 and 12 May 2026. It was a routine inspection conducted due to the length of time since the last inspection.
The hospice provides care to people with life‑limiting conditions where curative treatment is no longer possible and where people may be nearing the end of their life and who wish to be supported in their own home.
We spoke with people using the service, families and carers, as well as staff. We reviewed information provided by the service before and after the onsite visit. During this assessment, we looked at all quality statements across all 5 key questions. The rating reflects the findings from this inspection.
The service was last inspected in 2022 and was rated good. Following this inspection, the service continues to be rated good.
Care was person-centred. Plans reflected people’s preferences, including wishes for end of life care. Staff worked well with other professionals, including GPs and community nurses, to ensure care was coordinated and consistent.
People's experience of this service
We spoke to people using the service and their family or supporters, as well as hospice stakeholders. We also reviewed multiple types of feedback, as patients were listened to and encouraged to comment on their experience of care within the service.
People using the service and those close to them spoke positively about their experience of care. People and their families told us they felt well supported, cared for with dignity and treated with compassion. Staff were described as kind, respectful and responsive to individual needs, with 1 family member telling us, “all nurses were extremely compassionate, caring and sympathetic and delivered the best care anyone could ever want at the end of their lives”.
People said they felt safe receiving care at home. Emotional support was a particular strength of the service, with staff recognising the importance of supporting both the person and those close to them.
