Treating people as individuals
We did not look at Treating people as individuals during this assessment. The score for this quality statement is based on the previous rating for Caring.
Independence, choice and control
The provider mainly promoted people’s independence, so people knew their rights and had choice and control over their own care, treatment and wellbeing. We found care plans and risk assessments which were regularly reviewed and were mainly person-centred, ensuring independence, choice and control was detailed. During our assessment we observed people were not always able to make everyday decisions about their care and support. For example, we observed one person was not offered to go to the dining room for breakfast as there was not enough staff available to support the person with their mobility. We received positive feedback from people in relation to independence choice and control. Some comments from people were, “I can do what I want”, “We can have a bath and a shower when we want”, “It is nice food, and you can choose what you want” and “You can make your own choices".
