Our view of the service

Everlife (Wiltshire) is a domiciliary care agency providing the regulated activity personal care to adults and adults with learning disabilities. At the time of our assessment there were 40 people receiving a regulated service. We visited the service on 21 July 2025. The inspection was carried out because of the time since the last assessment. We expect health and social care providers to guarantee people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices and independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. ‘Right Support, Right Care, Right Culture’ is the guidance The Care Quality Commission follows to make assessments and judgements about services supporting people with a learning disability and autistic people and providers must have regard to it. Providers must also ensure they have an understanding of “stopping over medicating of people with a learning disability and autistic people” (STOMP).

People felt safe and staff were aware of their responsibilities to identify and report potential abuse. Staff received safeguarding training and were confident any concerns raised would be properly dealt with. Staff worked with people to assess any risks they faced. There were detailed risk management plans, which gave staff clear guidance on what to do to support people safely.

There were enough staff to meet people’s needs, and people were supported by a consistent staff team. People were complimentary about the staff and positive relationships had been developed. Staff had been recruited safely with all pre-employment checks completed prior to them starting. People had a comprehensive care plan, which they helped devise and review regularly.

People's experience of this service

We received positive feedback from people and their relatives. People told us they were happy and felt safe. Comments from people included “They are great, they help me and take me out to the theatre”, “Staff are great getting me motivated to go to clubs” and “I get on well with staff that come”. Relatives told us: “We all say that if the time comes when we may need care assistance ourselves, we so hope we will be able to be as lucky as [our relative] is with Everlife. Their high benchmark will be a hard act to follow”.
