Our view of the service
Date of assessment 30 March 2026. The service is a supported living service providing support to adults with a learning disability. We expect health and social care providers to guarantee people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices and independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. ‘Right Support, Right Care, Right Culture’ is the guidance CQC follows to make assessments and judgements about services supporting people with a learning disability and autistic people and providers must have regard to it. We found the provider was working in line with the Right Support, Right Care, Right Culture guidelines
This assessment was carried out because at our last assessment the provider was in breach of the legal regulation in relation to safe care and treatment and Governance of the service. During this assessment we found the service had made improvements and was no longer in breach of regulations.
Care plans contained clear person-centred details of people’s needs. Risks for people had been assessed and mitigated and medicines were manged safely.
The provider completed a range of audits to identify improvements and learning. The policies and procedures reflected good practice.
Staff we spoke to had a strong knowledge of people’s needs and preferences, they had completed training to enable them to support people safely and understood the requirements of the Mental Capacity Act and safeguarding principles. Staff competencies were assessed and the registered manager provided regular support and supervision to staff. Staff we spoke to were happy and felt supported by the provider.
People's experience of this service
People we spoke to were positive about their support and told us they felt safe. Comments included “staff keep me safe” “I like [staff]” and “[registered Manger] is good”. We saw staff interactions with people were kind and compassionate, people were given choice over their lives and supported to be involved in tasks and complete activities they preferred.
