Our view of the service

Lionheart Domiciliary Care Services Limited - Deptford is a home care service providing personal care to older people, younger adults, people living with dementia, physical disability, sensory impairment, mental health needs and a learning disability and/or autism. At the time of our assessment, 9 people were using the service.

We assessed the service from 2 March 2026 to 31 March 2026.

We carried out the assessment due to the time elapsed since our last assessment.

We expect health and social care providers to guarantee people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices and independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. 'Right support, right care, right culture' is the guidance CQC follows to make assessments and judgements about services supporting people with a learning disability and autistic people and providers must have regard to it.

At the time of our assessment, the service was not supporting any autistic people or people with a learning disability, but the provider had regard to 'Right support, right care, right culture'.

At our last assessment the provider was in breach of legal regulation in relation to safe care and treatment, good governance and fit and proper persons employed, and the service was rated requires improvement.

At this assessment the provider remains in breach of legal regulation in relation to safe care and treatment and good governance and the rating has remained requires improvement.

The provider had improved their recruitment process and is no longer in breach of legal regulation in relation to fit and proper persons employed.

Not all people had always received safe care and support. We identified issues with the moving and handling of people, medicines management and quality assurance. These issues had put some people at risk of potential harm. However, we found no evidence anyone had been harmed.

People were protected from abuse and infections.

The provider involved people and their relatives in the planning and delivery of their care and people were supported to be as independent as possible. People received their care from trained staff who were caring and kind and respected people's dignity. The provider and staff obtained people's consent before making decisions and carrying out tasks and people had choice and control over their care and support.

People, their relatives and staff were able to raise concerns and share feedback, felt comfortable to do so and were confident they would be listened to and appropriate action would be taken.

Leaders and staff were inclusive and open and honest, and the service had a supportive culture that promoted diversity and equality.
