Our view of the service
Date of assessment 23 July 2026 to 1st September 2026.
At the time of our assessment, Total Health Support and Training Services Limited was providing personal care to 31 people living in their own homes. The service supports older people, people living with physical disabilities, sensory impairments and long-term health conditions.
The provider worked collaboratively with healthcare professionals and other agencies to support people's health and wellbeing. Systems were in place to manage medicines safely, respond to safeguarding concerns, monitor incidents and accidents and review the quality of care provided. Governance arrangements helped leaders maintain oversight of the service and identify opportunities for learning and improvement.
Feedback regarding leadership was positive. Staff described managers as approachable and supportive and told us they felt able to raise concerns and provide feedback. People and relatives were involved in reviewing care and had opportunities to share their views about the service.
Evidence gathered during this assessment confirmed people received safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led care. The provider demonstrated a commitment to continuous improvement and worked to ensure people received person-centred support reflected their individual needs, preferences and goals.
People's experience of this service
People received care from staff who understood their needs and risks. Care plans and risk assessments were detailed and regularly reviewed to help ensure support remained safe, effective and responsive. Staff demonstrated a good understanding of safeguarding, consent and person-centred care and said they felt supported through training, supervision and regular contact with managers.
We gathered feedback from people receiving support, their relatives and professionals involved with the service. Feedback was consistently positive. One person told us they were "very happy" and said carers "know what they're doing" with their care. They knew their 4 regular carers well and had developed trusting relationships with them.
Relatives also spoke positively about the support provided. One relative described the carers as "kind" and said they provided excellent support to their family member. Another relative told us the company "is superb" and said carers "genuinely seem to love my relative; they can't do enough for [person]." A further relative described staff as "very friendly" and said they "do whatever [person] wants." They added staff were always polite and introduced themselves before entering the home.
Feedback consistently confirmed people felt safe, valued and well supported by staff who knew them well and treated them with kindness, compassion and respect.
