Our view of the service

Date of inspection: 06 July 2026. We visited the office location on 08 July 2026. Russell Green Care Home is a care home with 2 different Assessment Service Groups (ASGs). The service is registered for the ASGs ‘Care homes’ and ‘Domiciliary care’. Under CQC’s new assessment methodology, the 2 ASGs are reported on separately. This report is in respect of the domiciliary care service only and considers only those people who received support from that ASG and the regulated activity of personal care. At the time of our assessment the service was providing personal care and support to 8 people.

Staff understood people’s needs, respected their choices and promoted their independence. People told us this helped them feel safe. People and relatives consistently spoke positively about the care provided and the relationships staff had developed with them.

Staff received appropriate training and support and were aware of what abuse looked like and how to report any concerns. Care was delivered in people's homes in a way that considered environmental risks and changing health needs.

People’s care plans and risk assessments were detailed and regularly reviewed. Staff knew people well and adapted their support to meet individual preferences. People were supported to maintain their health and wellbeing, access healthcare services when needed and remain as independent as possible.

The service worked effectively with relatives and external professionals to support people's changing needs and provide joined up care. People were encouraged to share feedback and felt comfortable raising concerns. Feedback was used to review and improve the service.

There was a positive and open culture across the service. Staff felt valued, supported and able to speak up. Effective governance systems helped the management team monitor quality, identify improvements and maintain oversight of the service. The provider demonstrated a commitment to continuous learning, partnership working and delivering good outcomes for people.
