Our view of the service

Russell Green Care Home is a care home registered to provide accommodation, nursing and personal care, they are registered to provide this support to 18 people. The service provides support to older people, people living with dementia and people with a physical disability. At the time of our assessment there were 15 people living at the service. The service is provided in an adapted building over 2 floors. This assessment commenced on 7 February 2024 and was completed on 13 February 2024. The assessment included a visit from one inspector over two days, and an Expert by Experience who visited on the first day of the site visit. An Expert by Experience is a person who has had personal experience of using or caring for someone who uses this type of service. We looked at five quality statements during this assessment. Safeguarding; Involving people to manage risk; Safe and effective staffing; Independence, choice and control, and Equity in experiences and outcomes.

People's experience of this service

There was positive feedback from people throughout the assessment about the staff who supported them and the managers who ran the service. People felt safe living at the service and relatives and friends felt supported and involved with their family member's care when this was needed. Wherever possible people were involved in decisions and made their own choices on how they received their care. People were involved in a range of social activities and were supported to access the local community when they wished. People and relatives told us they felt able to raise any concerns to staff and knew they would addressed in a satisfactory way.
