Governance, management and sustainability
At the inspection on 23 September 2025, we found the practice had made the following improvements to comply with the regulation:
Systems and processes for ensuring staff training was up-to-date and completed at required intervals were working effectively. Management had oversight of staff training and could see when training was due and who had completed it. During the inspection we reviewed a selection of staff training records. These included training in medical emergencies, safeguarding and radiography. This confirmed the system and process was working effectively.
The practice had a recruitment policy and procedures that reflected relevant legislation. During the inspection we reviewed a selection of staff recruitment records. We confirmed that Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks were available and carried out at the correct level, records of satisfactory immunity to Hepatitis B, and satisfactory conduct in previous relevant employment were all available. This confirmed the recruitment procedures were working effectively.
We reviewed records in relation to the safe use of the cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) machine. We saw evidence of liaison between the Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS) and the Radiation Protection Advisor (RPA) about its use. This confirmed the system for ensuring the safe use of the CBCT machine was working effectively and that the RPS was fulfilling their role.
During the inspection we reviewed the system in place for ensuring the use of Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) was in line with legislation. We saw a Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) which fully justified the use of CCTV within the premises.
During the inspection we checked that an action highlighted in the external health and safety risk assessment. We confirmed this had been completed.
