Our view of the service
We carried out this announced on-site focused inspection on 10 June 2026. During this inspection, we inspected the safe, effective and well-led key questions.
We found the practice had not met all regulations.
There was ineffective leadership and systems were not in place for continuous improvement.
The practice did not have systems to identify and manage risks, including medical emergencies, fire safety, Legionella, radiation protection and infection prevention and control.
Staff did not have the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out their roles. Staff training was not up-to-date and there was no oversight of this.
Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation, but the policy was not followed.
The practice did not have effective systems to review and investigate incidents and accidents.
Staff did not obtain patients’ consent to care and treatment in line with legislation and guidance.
The practice is in Roundhay, Leeds and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children.
There were steps to the entrance and car parking spaces in front and behind the premises with additional on street parking near the practice.
The practice had 4 treatment rooms. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 9 staff, of which there were 3 dentists, 3 dental nurses, 1 dental hygienist, 1 receptionist and the practice manager. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including 1 dentist, 2 dental nurses, the receptionist and the practice manager.
The provider was not complying with Regulations 12 and 17. Full details of the regulations the provider was not meeting are within the inspection report.
