Staff we spoke with demonstrated knowledge of safeguarding and were aware of how safeguarding information could be accessed. Staff knew their responsibilities for safeguarding vulnerable adults and children and safeguarding training had been completed to the appropriate levels.Staff stated they felt respected, supported and valued. They were proud to work in the practice.

The practice now had arrangements to ensure staff training was up-to-date and reviewed at the required intervals. At the follow up inspection, we checked 8 staff records, and all required training had been completed. The practice had implemented an online compliance system, which they used to track all training for all staff. The practice had a recruitment policy and procedure to help them employ suitable staff, including for agency or locum staff. These reflected the relevant legislation.

At the follow up inspection, we checked 8 staff records and all files contained evidence of immunity to Hepatitis B, professional indemnity cover, photographic ID and appropriate Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificates. We saw evidence that conduct in previously employment and information about any physical or mental health conditions relevant to the person’s capability was now recorded.
