Kindness, compassion and dignity

Regulations met

Staff treated patients with kindness, respect and compassion. We observed positive interactions between staff and patients both in person and on the telephone. Staff displayed an understanding of patients’ needs and showed warmth and compassion to patients.

Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice.

Patient comments included that staff were welcoming and attentive, acted with integrity, and showed compassion. Comments included, “This has been my dentist for over 15 years. I have visited every six months for this entire time and have always found the practice incredibly professional and welcoming. I have also brought my son to the practice since he was a toddler and now 8. I am very well looked after.”

Patients said staff were professional, courteous, and considerate. Comments included, “This is simply a wonderful dental practice. [Clinician] is an excellent dentist, who allows for you to feel relaxed, taking the time to talk through with you, what is required to be done. Freely passing over advice and knowledge on your dental health care and the on-going daily cleaning requirements in between appointments. The time he takes to reassure you of any concerns is just so important to how you feel about your smile and having the confidence in knowing how important dental care is in your lifetime.”

Patients felt they were treated as individuals, and their personal and cultural needs were respected.

We were provided with a patient survey which indicated a high level of satisfaction with the care and treatment received.

People received care from staff who were aware of their responsibility to respect people’s diversity and human rights, and of the importance of privacy and confidentiality.

Staff felt respected, valued and supported in their roles, and their wellbeing was supported.
