Our view of the service
Date of assessment 28 and 29 July 2026.
Cera Cumbria is a domically home care agency registered to provide personal care for people living in their own homes.
At the time of our assessment 84 people received the regulated activity of personal care.
We assessed the quality statements from all key questions, safe, effective, caring, responsive and well led.
Overall people told us they felt safe and well supported by staff, they felt able to raise any concerns and were confident these would be responded to appropriately.
Care plans were person centred and people and their families were involved in completing care planning and reviews.
Staff were trained in safeguarding and knew how to identify concerns and how to report them. Safeguarding concerns were shared with relevant agencies and were well documented.
The provider had good working relationships with other agencies.
Staff received appropriate training and induction programmes and had access to additional specific training if required.
Staff told us they felt supported by managers and received regular supervision and appraisals. They also had access to a range of additional resources such as wellbeing and reward schemes.
We found recording around people’s medication was not always consistent and guidance on as and when required medications needed improvement.
Risk assessments were not always completed for people, and this required a greater oversight from the management team.

A family member told us, “All the carers are good to my relative.”
Some people we spoke to told us they did not always receive consistent care staff. However, most people that we spoke to told us care visits were on time and they were notified by phone if care staff were running late.
